Cassata high School continues to provide a viable and successful solution for many students in our community, but your help is needed. Currently, only 9% of our students are from families having income sufficient to pay the $500 monthly tuition. The remaining 91% must be subsidized by donations from individuals, organizations and foundations. The high dropout rate is not just a school issue; it is a community problem and one of the most challenging facing our community today.

Unrestricted Gifts

In addition to providing tuition assistance to more than 90% of our students, general operating donations impact every facet of an education at Cassata and provide much needed support and improvements to our academic program: including the addition of new courses, updated textbooks, desks, comprehensive resources, training, and support for our faculty, technology, and facilities.

Ensuring the Future Through
Endowment Giving

An endowment gift is special in that the principal generally remains untouched; only a portion of the yearly interest earned on the fund is used for its designated purpose. Additional earnings are reinvested for future growth. A strong endowment provides stability and protection during tough economic times and is the key to ensuring that our important work here at Cassata continues.

Planned Giving

Planned or deferred gifts can give significant benefits to you and your family now and in the future, and provide a great measure of satisfaction in knowing that you are creating a legacy that will live on for generations at Cassata. Planned giving options include bequests, gifts of stocks, retirement assets, life insurance, and charitable trusts. Contact your financial advisor or our Development Department for more information.

IRA Charitable Rollover –
Extended for 2008 and 2009

If you are 70 ½ and older and want to make a gift to Cassata, then take advantage of the recent extension of the IRA Charitable Rollover and donate your IRA assets while avoiding income tax on the IRA withdrawal. Consult your financial services, tax or investment advisor, or IRA custodian for more information about processing an IRA Charitable Rollover.

Sister Bonaventure Scholarship Tree

Leaves can be purchased for a $100 donation and may be inscribed with the name of the person you are honoring or remembering. Names of donors contributing $500 or more are engraved upon cornerstones at the root of the tree. Larger cornerstones are available ranging from $1,000 to $2,500. Your gift will be visible to students and visitors for many years to come!
